Looking back, my summer vacation has been
boring, yet productive. In order to keep
up my goal of graduating in two years, I have to take as many credits as I can,
even during the summers. On a side note,
I took courses from different universities around Taipei. For me, I believe it was a positive thing
because not only was I able to observe the beauty in different university
campuses, I was also able to get firsthand experience on how other universities
organized their courses. Of course, I
was able to still find ways to enjoy my life even with all the rigorous courses
I had to endure. First of all, one of
the benefits of these “exchange student program” at other universities is that
I was able to make friends with students from other universities. The friendship obtained during my studies
this summer with other students was so strong that even after the end of the course;
I would still hang out with them.
Another enjoyment I found during this summer program was that I was
taking courses on subjects that I was interested in. Of course, my summer was not totally filled
with taking rigorous classes. I started
my summer off with a relaxing trip to Hong Kong and Macau. Being a Hong Kong citizen myself, I return to
Hong Kong quite often. Unlike Taipei,
Hong Kong was more densely populated and the pace of the city seemed much
faster than that of Taipei. For me, a
trip to Hong Kong would not be complete without a visit to Macau. Unlike my previous visits to Macau however,
gambling was not my main priority. I was
there to watch a famous entertainment show called the house of dancing
waters. Even though the ticket to the
show was expensive, I believed that it was worth the price after seeing how
amazing the performance was. The performers
obviously spent a lot of time and effort preparing for the show. Overall, I did not have the most interesting
summer. I did however make the best use
of my time which will help me tremendously towards finishing my university
diploma.
